Peer to Peer Travel News – September 2018

peer to peer travel news

septemberThese days new sharing economy travel companies launch every week, and I sometimes discover established businesses that I had missed. All of these get added to my spreadsheet of sharing economy travel services. Here’s the summary for September.

Locarry – peer to peer gear rental focused on encouraging travelers to travel without luggage. Currently active in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Japan. The service is new and currently not taking a commission on rentals.

Waze – this peer to peer carpooling service from Google is expanding into Brazil. Currently Waze serves Israel and a few U.S. cities. They are mostly focused on carpooling to work, but the app can be used by anyone to find a ride with a driver going your way.

Cuddle my Kitty – this peer to peer pet care network launched in 2018. They’re currently in the UK and UAE. Cat lovers offer free care to cat owners through this network. Unlike typical house sitting offerings, Cuddle my Kitty provides the option to send your cat to a cat lover’s home nearby or have them check in on your pet daily.
