3168 listings in 57 countries

Listings in selected countries:

  • France: 43
  • England: 104
  • United States: 1726
  • Canada: 493
  • Australia: 451

Searching: Searches start with a drop down menu of countries for most of the world, and a list of states/provinces for the U.S. and Canada. You can narrow this down by keyword search but there are no further search filters. There is no map-based search.

Listings: Search results display a text heavy overview of the properties that is mostly a paragraph written by the owner. There are no pictures and the summary info is sparse. As a visitor you can’t click through to individual listings to see more detail.

This site offers the following variations on house swapping:

  • simultaneous or non-simultaneous house swap – this is the traditional model where two parties swap houses for an agreed upon set of dates. Non-simultaneous works best with second homes, but is also useful for people going on vacation and leaving their home empty. In this case each party picks different dates for the swap.
  • vacation rental – These are not posted by members of the site but rather paid advertisements from others targeting this market. These properties are separate from the house swap search.

Site design: There is not a lot of content on this site, and it is very text heavy without much design thought.

Additional features: The site does not appear to have an email function, instead just displaying personal emails of all listers to all members.

  • I would like information about Brazil.
Right now I am living in Belo Horizonte MG and I am interested in developing social activities.
I am studying at Belo Horizonte MG at UNA University in courses in Vegetable Gardens, Finance, Cinema, Computer Science and Phytotherapy.
Is IVHE interested in the elderly in Brazil?
I imagine the transformation of Seniors focused on activities such as exchanging communities for various activities, developing homes for the elderly with new perspectives on life, courses aimed at new activities, among others.
Like me, here in BH I know Seniors looking for a space to develop some useful activity and of their interest with the need for COWORKING of the THIRD AGE.
Several projects around the world on senior citizens have been a reality for several years and Brazil is starting as Condominiums, Coworking and Coliving, U3A – University of senior citizens, among others.
I would like to work on projects related to this proposal and look for partners related to the Seniors.

  • Fantastic blog! Do you have any recommendations for
aspiring writers? I’m hoping to start my own site soon but
I’m a little lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress
or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that
I’m completely confused .. Any recommendations?
    Thank you!
